“I walked into Blue Tit London without any plan to become a hairdresser, their Dalston salon had just opened and I liked the look of it and the area. The stylists and the salon itself just inspired me, I enrolled in the Blue Tit Academy and now I never want to do anything else!

The Blue Tit Academy teaches the foundations of hairdressing whilst encouraging individuality and current trends and styles. It’s a place for both newcomers and experienced stylists to learn new techniques and new ways of thinking about hair. It taught me how to be a clean, precise hairdresser but creative within that. After four years, I became manager of our Brixton salon. It was a huge achievement for me and just one of the many opportunities Blue Tit London has given me. Now I’m on the Creative Team for Blue Tit London and head up the Blue Tit Academy. It’s such an exciting brand to be a part of, it’s always moving forward as a business and in creativity and as our team expands we’re constantly adding new dynamics and creative skills.

One of my dreams as a hairdresser was take Blue Tit London abroad – I’ve done it, holding classes in Australia, Germany and the USA.

Meet: Pashcan’el Mitchell

Title: Lead Textured Hair Educator & Stylist
Salons: Blue Tit Clapton & Forest Hill

Pash Mitchell

Pash has been working at Blue Tit London for three years. He brought a wealth of expertise to the team and has been working as the lead textured hair educator in the Blue Tit Academy, as well as a stylist in Clapton and Forest Hill, and part of the Creative Team.

“I’ve done Colour World, Salon International, Haircon, to name just a few. What I enjoy about being part of these shows with Blue Tit London is that I get to showcase my skills with textured hair. Pushing the boundaries and being creative, thinking outside the box. I love the flexibility of hairdressing.”

“My advice to a new stylist is education is so important, it’s the key to your future also, I’d say don’t lose the art of playing and experimenting with hair.”

Meet: Bradley

Title: Level 5 Stylist and Salon Partner
Salon: Blue Tit Brockley

“I’ve worked in nearly all the Blue Tit London salons! I moved to London with about six years experience and after working for a few months at a Shoreditch salon I met Blue Tit London owner Perry, shortly after I was working at the newly opened Blue Tit Dalston.

I managed our Peckham salon for a while and went on to open up our Brockley salon, which I now manage and co-own. If I had to pick a favourite salon, it’d be Blue Tit Clapton. It’s set over two floors so has a cosy, homely vibe and it’s got a great buzz at the weekends.

Cutting hair has been a family trade for the last three generations, so it felt natural to pursue it as my own career. I originally wanted to be a barber but after taking on an apprenticeship in my hometown of Southampton I found myself wanting to explore the world of hair in more depth. I enjoy a challenge and have loved being part of such a creative team, we work with hair care brand Oway to create incredible, unique hairstyles that are shown at events across Europe.”

Meet Aileas

Role: Level 5 Stylist and Salon Manager

Salon: Blue Tit Crouch Hill

When Aileas first stepped into our Crouch Hill salon as an assistant, she was the one quietly taking everything in – watching, learning, asking the right questions and putting the graft in. Now she’s gone from back-basin beginnings to Level 5 Stylist, Colourist and our brand-new Salon Manager.

From day one, Aileas showed she had the touch. Whether it was shampooing with care, mixing perfect tones or keeping the floor running smooth, she always brought calm energy. As her colour work grew, so did her confidence: soft blondes, glossy brunettes, clever toning, gentle corrections – she’s got a knack for making hair look lived-in, healthy and effortless.

And now, as Salon Manager, she’s already setting the tone – supporting the team, mentoring juniors, keeping the vibe strong and pushing the creative standards Blue Tit Crouch Hill is known for.

Aileas has worked seriously hard for this moment, and we couldn’t be prouder. You’re going to smash this next chapter – and we’re all here for it.
